The Great Neck Historical Society has recognized three buildings in Thomaston
as having cultural, historic or architectural interest:
Methodist Church Sunday School
715 Northern Boulevard
Built in 1881 by Joseph Spinney.
Restored by the Korean Methodist Church in 2012.
124 Susquehanna Avenue
Built c. 1858 for U.S. Congressman Benjamin Wood. Wood was also a New York State Senator and editor and publisher of the New York Daily News. The house was moved back from the original position facing the North Hempstead Turnpike (Northern Boulevard).
21 Lincoln Road
Built in 1921 by the Shields Brothers in their development called Great Neck Villa.
It was the home of Julius Henry (Groucho) Marx and his family from 1926 to 1931. The purchase price of the house was $27,000.
